About FX Trader+
FX Trader+ was UBS Investment Bank's proprietary electronic foreign exchange (FX) trading platform, designed for institutional clients and professional traders. The platform provided real-time access to a broad range of FX products — including spot, forwards, swaps, and options — with an emphasis on speed, precision, and execution efficiency.
As part of UBS's e-commerce strategy during the early 2010s, FX Trader+ played a key role in enhancing electronic trading capabilities, providing clients with a competitive, high-performance alternative to voice trading.
Task
My UX work contributed to improving the usability, layout, and performance under pressure, helping users better manage risk and navigate increasingly complex workflows in a demanding trading environment.
I also led the design of the native mobile version of FX Trader+, UBS's first iOS trading application. It was both an enjoyable and challenging experience — collaborating closely with the Product Owner to translate the functionality of the desktop platform into a compact mobile format, while learning and applying Apple's Human Interface Guidelines along the way.

- The visual design language is obviously dated, but was the standard look 'n' feel for UBS' Foreign Exchange apps at the time, and also reflects the level of visual design sophistication for web applications in the early 2010s.
