Sole UX designer within the "OMD (Order Modelling & Dealing)" team, responsible for the new Order Trade Blotter (OTB) application providing an end-to end user journey for traders (dealers), allowing them to select order packages created by portfolio managers, 'slice and dice' them into new execution packages, display risk and pricing data, request and receive quotes from counterparties, create term sheets, execute trades, and enrich execution details.

Early testing of the application in production already showing much improved user workflow efficiency (reduction of actions to complete a task) through better usability and interaction design compared with the legacy system and also offers additional features and functionality the legacy system lacks.

Lead Designer (within the Commercial On-boarding & Lending team) in creating a new digital end-to-end user journey for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) to on-board and apply for credit cards, unsecured and secured loans — with minimal colleague interaction to save millions in operating costs from the overhead of running call centres.

Organised a 'Show & Tell' to the core Product Design team, various Product Owners / Managers and Department Heads, offering insight into financial charting UX and UI design considerations from the unique (combined) perspective of a UX / Product Designer and day trader.

But first, I had to convince my colleagues I knew what I was talking about...

This presentation made a huge impact in educating the Product Design Team, and was influencial in steering discussions on the company's charting engine's future design considerations, and the apps and device platforms that would eventually be utilising it.

Framework & App Framework

A comprehensive list of major projects I was directly responsible for across multiple teams to define foundational framework behaviours and patterns at the Platform and App level for the new flagship Workspace product (which will eventually replace the legacy Thomson Reuters Eikon platform).

Financial professionals are increasingly using larger monitors (sometimes multiples of them) and with demand to access financial apps and data on the move, research and analysis work was carried out to define the best responsive design breakpoints to use in designing future financial apps across desktop, tablet and mobile, forming one of the foundational building blocks of the nascent Design System.

Redesign a file uploader UI component for Refinitiv Workspace apps.

Replace an old Microsoft Excel-driven pricing tool with a modern and responsive web application so relationship managers can access the tool with up-to-date data on-the-go, when meeting customers, via their laptops or through their mobile devices (tablets and mobile). Address shortcomings with the old Excel-based tool.

Lead designer within the "Integrated Solutions" team, responsible for the UI and interaction design of new features and functionality within the Flow application, which manages and monitors corporate clients' DB (Defined Benefit) Pension Schemes with views to monitor cashflows, risk and surplus at the client and portfolio levels, and perform scenario (what-if) analysis.

Users of this system are portfolio managers, the client solutions team, and quantitative analysts.

Lead designer for an online marketplace concept for Refinitiv customers to trial or buy access to data or packaged data solutions from Refinitiv or trusted third parties / partners.

Conduct workshop sessions with real users to test and validate a new data model to efficiently capture the rights and duties stipulated in complex contracts between Thomson Reuters and it's data suppliers, with the aim that the new system will reduce the amount of monetary fines the company pays for breaches in contract terms.

Conduct usability study of current process and systems involved to on-board a customer to enroll in a Eikon product trial and suggest ways to improve the process for the Sales team to on-board a customer for a product trial.

Suggested improvements to the user journey by creating a unified UI connected to the relevant disparate systems, resulting in a 55% reduction in required user actions to on-board and enroll a customer to a product.

This report has been much lauded within the Thomson Reuters global UX community and is still cited many years after when the Financial & Risk division of Thomson Reuters became Refinitiv.

Design of a production management system that incorporates a business process orchestration engine that delivers to customers the ability to execute and manage unique end-to-end business processes or ‘workflows’ of their own design, to be used by the HMRC and various UK high-street banks in multi-channel communications to their customers.

Design of a system for the bank to facilitate the setup and management of corporate customers to its Foreign Exchange (FX) FlexRate multi-currency pricing (MCP) and dynamic currency conversion (DCC) commercial banking service into the international online arena.

FlexRate Reporting & Analytics

Working with the project owner (and primary user), design the Reporting and Analytics module for the FlexRate application, based on their needs.

Design a better date-picker control for applications within Thomson reuters' EIKON platform, taking into consideration for limited screen real-estate use-cases and pre-defined date ranges.

Design a better Multi-Select control to be able to view only selected items amongst a long list of available values (200+ items within a drop-down list).

Define the responsive behaviour for the Eikon FX Volume Heatmap app when it is resized.

Design, organise and facilitate a fun, end-of-year, on-site design workshop for members of the London office to introduce and familiarise them to an established design process by solving a design challenge using the Double Diamond methodology.

Create a dashboard application that visualises the supplied data. It should incorporate data visualisation and raw data grids. The application will be implemented as a web application using AngularJS. It will be used on an iPad and Desktop.
